The 2023 Future Science Prize announced this year's winners on 16 August. A total of eight scientists have been recognised for their extraordinary and sustained contributions in the fields of life sciences, physical sciences, and mathematics and computing.

The Future Science Prize aims to recognise scientific breakthroughs that are original, innovative and of long-term significance.

The awards ceremony will be held for the first time in Hong Kong in October at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, providing a global platform for international scientists to exchange views and perspectives.

Professor Vivian Wing-Wah YAM, Member of the Program Committee of the 2023 Future Science Prize Week and Member of the Greater Bay Area Association of Academicians, said that the event has attracted over 20 distinguished speakers to share ideas on cutting-edge scientific research. It is undoubtedly a valuable opportunity for local young researchers to broaden their scientific horizons and be inspired.
